Hilton Head Island is home to a semi-tropical climate and the spring and summer months can be quite warm and humid. It is very important to remember that our four-legged friends feel like they are wearing a fur coat during the warmer months and pet owners need to take special precautions during this time of the year to ensure our furry friends are cool, comfortable and healthy.

Pets are very welcome on Hilton Head’s Beaches, but to ensure the safety of everyone, including your pets, the following rules do apply: Pets are not permitted between 10am & 5pm from Friday before Memorial Day through Labor Day. Pets must be on a leash between 10am & 5pm from April 1 through Thursday before Memorial Day & between 10am & 5pm from Tuesday after Labor Day through September 30th. Pets must be on a leash or under voice control at all other times.You are required to remove and dispose of your animal's waste.
